Stuck on a difficult university software lab, terminal command, or syntax error? I skip the generic lecture videos and partner with you directly on the specific project files or runtime errors you are trying to debug right now.
Learning to code later in life can feel overwhelming. I provide a highly patient, zero-judgment environment where we focus entirely on the material or personal web projects you want to build, progressing entirely at your own pace.
Hello! I'm Josh, a dedicated educator holding dual BS degrees in Computer Engineering and Computer Science from UMass Amherst. My passion for technology is matched by my love for teaching others how to navigate it. I work across a wide variety of age groups, helping students break through tough programming roadblocks and complex engineering principles. My instructional background spans both structured educational settings and private mentorship. As a Computer Language Teacher at the Advanced Computer Science Academy, I provided tailored, 1-on-1 coding lessons in Python, Java, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS to students in grades 8–12. At the university level, I served as a UMass Undergraduate Instructor's Assistant, guiding students through software debugging in C/C++ and CircuitPython, hardware breadboarding, and troubleshooting using oscilloscopes and logic analyzers. I treat tutoring as a collaborative partnership where we debug code line-by-line and unpack the "why" behind errors. I look forward to partnering with you on your homework, project specifications, exam prep, or lab assignments!
