If you are looking for football lessons in The Woodlands, TX, I run practical, position-friendly training at local fields with clear goals and real results. I’m Le Morrow, and I bring 18 years of playing experience in both tackle and flag formats to help athletes at any position grow their skills with purpose.
What My Football Lessons Look Like in The Woodlands
Every athlete shows up with a different mix of strengths and needs, so I start by assessing movement, footwork, and football IQ, then build a targeted plan from there. Whether you play quarterback, wide receiver, running back, defensive back, or in the box, I create drills that translate directly to your next practice or game. I value open communication during and between reps, so we can make fast corrections and keep each minute focused on improvement.
Here is how a typical first session might flow:
Quick conversation on goals, pain points, and position demands.
Dynamic warm-up tuned to the movements you actually use on the field.
Focus block on one primary skill, like release footwork or backpedal-to-drive transitions.
Secondary block on a complementary skill, like catching mechanics or angle tackling form.
Football IQ segment: coverage recognition, spacing, or situational decision-making.
Short recap and clear take-home drills.
Where We Train: Trusted Fields Around The Woodlands
I teach in places that let us work efficiently and safely. In and around The Woodlands, my go-to spots are:
Bear Branch Sports Fields in The Woodlands, for dependable turf access and space to run full-route trees and coverage reps.
Gosling Sports Field in The Woodlands, great for agility circuits, change-of-direction drills, and small-group positional work.
Woodforest Bank Stadium in Conroe, ideal for game-speed reads and special teams fundamentals when availability allows.
Meyer Park in Spring, a convenient option for athletes on the south side of The Woodlands area.
We will choose the site that best matches your position, schedule, and the day’s training focus.
Tackle and Flag: How We Adjust the Details
I am proficient in both tackle and flag football, and I tailor drills to the demands of each format. For tackle players, we talk pad level, leverage, and safe, legal contact habits. For flag athletes, we emphasize acceleration, angles to the hip, efficient flag pulls, and open-field pursuit without overcommitting.
If you are a two-sport or crossover athlete, we can also build conditioning and movement blocks that protect your body during busy seasons. My aim is to develop repeatable habits that hold up on Friday nights, in weekend leagues, or at your next flag tournament.
Position-Focused Training That Travels to Your Game Film
I coach technique that matches the realities of your position:

Le Morrow
Football coach in Conroe, Texas
Hello all! I bring nearly two decades of variable football experience in multiple formats and age ranges to the table! Beyond that, what sets me apart as a coach is I have garnered enough knowledge and communicative skills to assist students in being the best they can at ANY position they desire to play! I value open communication with my students so that no time is wasted and they can spend every minute perfecting a craft they enjoy and appreciate.
Quarterbacks: stance and first step, pocket movement, base and hip sequencing for consistent ball flight, and situational reads. We rep quick-game timing, rollout mechanics, and on-the-move accuracy.
Wide Receivers and Tight Ends: stance, release packages versus press and off coverage, top-of-route footwork, hands and tuck security, and boundary awareness. We rep single and double moves and finish with contested-catch technique.
Running Backs: track and aim points, press-and-cut discipline, balance through contact, ball security in traffic, and pass-protection posture and strike.
Defensive Backs and Safeties: stance and pedal, hip turns, speed turns, drive angles, press and soft-shoe techniques, and playing the ball without grabbing. We install communication habits that make zone responsibilities cleaner.
Linebackers and Box Defenders: read steps, shuffle-to-fit, leverage, block destruction mechanics with safe technique, and pursuit geometry to limit cutbacks.
Special Teams: stance and first-10 yards, coverage lanes, return angles, and smart situational play.
Each block ends with a quick feedback loop, so you know exactly what to keep and what to correct.
What Should I Bring to Training?
I provide the plan and the structure. Students should bring whatever equipment is relevant to their domain, like flags or a helmet for tackle work. Good cleats, water, and a mindset for learning make a huge difference. As I like to say: bring a positive attitude and a mind for molding.
How I Measure Progress Without Wasting Reps
Improvement is not about longer workouts. It is about cleaner reps. We track progress with simple, game-relevant markers:
Footwork efficiency: fewer wasted steps to reach the same break point.
Catch or completion rates by route family or read family.
Release-win percentage versus simulated press.
Backpedal-to-drive time and ball disruption rate for DBs.
Ball security reps without a drop or punch-out.
These are not just numbers. They are habits you can feel on the field.
What Do Local Families Say?
I keep the focus on the athlete and the work, and I am grateful when feedback reflects that. A few words from parents and players in the area:
“Great.”, Hendrik
“L.E. did a great job assessing my son’s ability and finding the right starting point to get him going in the right direction.”, Peter
Across my public profile, I hold a 5-star average across 8 reviews, with 12 completed lessons logged. If you are new to private coaching, that should give you a sense of how sessions feel and what to expect.
Can Beginners and Multi-Position Players Train Together?
Absolutely. I work with athletes who are brand-new to football, returning after a break, or learning multiple positions. Early sessions focus on universal building blocks like stance, balance, and ball skills. From there, I split time to make sure each position gets the details it needs without losing the bigger picture of team football.
If your athlete is still finding their best spot, we use exposure sessions that rotate through roles and ask: where does their movement profile and mindset shine? That keeps progress fun and honest, especially in middle school and early high school.
How Sessions Adapt During the Season vs. Offseason
In-season: we tighten volume, fix what last week exposed, and install one small upgrade for the next game. Recovery and sharpness take priority over heavy conditioning.
Offseason: we expand skill depth, build stronger movement patterns, and grow football IQ with film-supported conversations on coverages, fronts, and route concepts.
This rhythm helps athletes peak when it matters without losing the long-term arc of development.
Safety, Confidence, and Game-Day Translation
Football development should build confidence, not hesitation. I coach safe technique and communication habits so athletes play fast and stay aware. For tackle, that means posture, leverage, and legal contact points. For flag, that means clean hips, chest-up pursuit, and decision-making that protects you from bad angles or risky reaches.
We connect every drill to a game-day moment. When an athlete knows the why, their body commits to the how.
How to Get the Most From Your First Three Lessons
To make early progress stick, here is a simple plan I recommend to all families:
Identify one clear game goal: for example, separate at the top of routes or tackle in space without reaching. We will build each session around that.
Keep a short training log: three bullet points after each lesson that note what clicked, what felt awkward, and one question to bring back next time.
Do the small homework: 10 minutes of footwork or ball-handling on off days beats a long workout once a week. Consistent micro-work changes how you move under pressure.
Why Train Locally in The Woodlands
Local training saves time and keeps reps consistent. At Bear Branch Sports Fields or Gosling Sports Field, we can see the same landmarks and spacing each week, which helps young athletes settle into rhythms faster. For families who split time between The Woodlands and nearby areas, Woodforest Bank Stadium in Conroe or Meyer Park in Spring make scheduling practical without losing momentum.
The fields here are also familiar to many league and school players, so the environment feels like home. That comfort layer accelerates learning.
Who I Am and How I Coach

My background is in playing, and over 18 years I have worked through the details at many positions, then translated that into simple, communicate-first coaching. My promise is to listen closely, coach clearly, and spend every minute on the skills that matter to you.
