Will the instructor have equipment I can use?

Yes! If you need a surfboard, I have two longboards and a shortboard you can use. If you have your own board, I am happy to teach you on that as well. I do not provide wetsuits though. Message me for help on renting or buying one 🤙

Do I need to know how to swim?

Nope! Many of the best beginner spots are super shallow. So, you will be able to stand the whole time.

That lesson with Parker was quite helpful, especially since he took time to clarify some surf techniques I hadn’t fully grasped before. Though I still need to work on catching waves more consistently, I feel like I'm slowly improving thanks to his calm approach. Still, I look forward to building on that and maybe focusing more on timing next time. If you're after a relaxed, practical lesson that helps develop good habits, Parker's a good option to consider.

Wow, Parker's a really cool guy and super down to earth as a teacher, which made the lesson feel pretty relaxed. His approach definitely stood out to me. Still, I think working on getting the pop-up down and right when I get on the wave would really make a difference. Overall, I felt like I learned a lot, and I’d suggest giving Parker a shot if you’re after a laid-back but effective surf lesson.

1 session in and I already feel more comfortable in the water. Parker provided such a calm and safe presence throughout our session. His knowledge and skill was evident, he looks just as comfortable in the water as he does on land! He was also so patient and encouraging. I will happily be continuing my sessions with him.
