Paul Park
Pickleball Coach in Alexandria, VA
I’ve been playing pickleball for five years and coaching for four. I play almost everyday, and I play regularlyin tournaments. My dupr is currently 4.5. I play mostly in Northern Virginia and DC. I am closely connected to the local pickleball community. Sports have always been a core part of my life—historically basketball, soccer, and table tennis; now pickleball has emerged as the most engaging, strategic, and social game I’ve played. As a coach, I combine drilling with live play, working alongside my students to develop solid shot mechanics, sharpen strategy, and improve decision-making under pressure. Beyond lessons, I help players plug into the local pickleball scene so they can continue progressing through games, leagues, and community connections. If you’re ready to elevate your game, I’d be glad to work with you.

About Paul
I’ve been playing pickleball for four years and coaching for three, with consistent experience competing in tournaments. I’m on the court nearly every day and stay closely connected to the local pickleball community, especially in the Arlington area. Sports have always been a core part of my life—including basketball, soccer, and table tennis—but pickleball stands out as the most engaging, strategic, and social game I’ve played.

I’ve had 3 lessons with Paul and I’m going to sign up for more! I came to him as a 3.0 player looking to improve my game with better offense. He has worked with me on topspin, speedups and roll volleys which have all been terrific! He also had a drill to specifically increase my aggressiveness. He is patient and will work with you on what you want to learn as well as point out areas of weakness. He gave me some great wall drills to practice between sessions. I couldn’t recommend Paul more highly for the intermediate player!!

I recently had the pleasure of taking a pickleball lesson, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience! Paul was incredibly knowledgeable and patient, taking the time to explain the rules and techniques in a way that was easy to understand. The lesson was well-structured, allowing us to progressively build our skills and confidence on the court. Whether you're a complete beginner or looking to refine your skills, I highly recommend Paul for pickleball lessons. I can't wait to book my next session!

PJ is an amazing coach! I have taken over 20 lessons with him (individually and as a group), and I have gotten more than I could have ever expected out of the lessons. He’s very knowledgeable, and he explains pickleball concepts in a way that is easy to understand. He also creatively makes modifications as needed in drilling exercises and in recreational games to even out the level of play between all players. I look forward to taking additional lessons with him and continuing to increase my skills.

I’d say the lesson gave me some useful pointers, especially on my serve placement and positioning, which I hadn’t really thought much about before. Still, I think I could benefit from more drills to really feel comfortable applying what was covered. Paul was quite clear and patient, though, and I’m hopeful that with continued practice, I’ll improve my game for open play. Would probably consider trying another lesson to keep that momentum going.

“What can I say that hasn’t been said before. I took my first lesson and can confirm Paul is a wonderful pickleball coach. I’m a beginner and Paul patiently showed me good volley technique and I got lots of practice and realtime advice for improving.”
Kimberly D.
Beginner student
“The lesson clarified form, volleys, bouncing, and grip, and I walked away with actionable cues I’ll apply next time, plus a confident feel at the net. A quick nudge to keep refining form, and I’m already looking forward to more.”
