Katy was instrumental in my D1 college golf recruitment process. Not only was she my cheerleader and encourager, but she also made sure I stayed on top of my grades, writing professional emails, and keeping my golf portfolio updated for college coaches to reference. Since she was a class ahead of me, I was also able to witness her own recruitment process, which gave me a firsthand look at what the process could look like and helped me feel more prepared when it was my turn. Having someone who had already gone through the process to guide and encourage me made a huge difference. I’m incredibly grateful for Katy’s support throughout my recruitment journey. Her combination of personal experience, encouragement, and attention to the details of the recruiting process gave me the confidence and tools I needed to pursue my goal of playing Division I college golf.

Working with Katy has been an outstanding experience and a true catalyst for improving my golf game. She brings a rare combination of technical expertise, patience, and clear communication that makes even the most nuanced swing adjustments easy to understand and implement. Her coaching style is highly personalized, she takes the time to analyze my strengths and weaknesses and builds a plan that delivers real, measurable progress. Beyond the mechanics, she’s helped elevate my confidence and overall mindset. Every lesson feels purposeful and motivating, and it’s clear she’s genuinely invested in her students’ growth. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking to take their game to the next level

Gave the lesson as a gift to my by bestie. Katy was very communicative regarding the lesson and inquired about what goals we had for a lesson outcome. She arrived on time and prepared. My friend really enjoyed the lesson and constructive feedback. He said was very cool and easy to learn from. She even would crack a joke from time to time to make the lesson more stress free. A total success for a 1st lesson. I recommend her as an instructor for anyone wanting to get better at golf no matter what level you are.

I had a great first golf lesson with Katy! I’m a complete beginner and come from a basketball background, so golf is definitely new to me. Katy did a great job breaking everything down in a way that was easy to understand and apply. She gave me strong foundational tips and simple checkpoints I can use to make sure my form and swing are good.

In one session, Coach Katy noticed and fixed my problem. From my baseball grip, addressing the ball, to finishing my swing. Now my grip is relaxed, I bow and slightly bend my knees, and finish by hugging the tree. Coach Katy made me comfortable and made funny analogies to fix my problem. Great coaching

Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know before booking with Katy.
Do you provide clubs?
For a novice golfer, I can lend a spare wedge or iron that my main teaching facility carries as extra spare clubs for lessons #1-3. If we continue golf long-term, I recommend to start shopping for a golf club set & golf bag.
What experience levels do you teach?
I teach beginner, intermediate, and expert golfers. I tailor instruction to your goals, learning style, and natural swing, using personalized drills to work on golf fundamentals and the mental game.
Where do lessons take place?
My main teaching location is at Los Compas Golf Studio in Pasadena, CA, but I'm happy to coach all over Los Angeles, such as at Aroma Golf Course, Brookside Golf Club at the Rose Bowl, Santa Anita Golf Course, Generation Golf, Griffith Park Golf Course, Los Feliz Golf Course, Rancho Park Golf Course, Alondra Park Golf Course, and Swing Factory Golf LA. Online lessons are also available; ask me which venue or format works for your preferred date.
What ages do you teach?
I teach golf to students ages 5 and up, tailoring instruction to all skill levels. Golf is a club-and-ball sport where players aim to get the ball into each hole in as few strokes as possible.
What happens during the first lesson?
In your first golf lesson, we’ll discuss your goals, learning style, mental game, and natural swing, then work on fundamentals with drills tailored to you. Please complete my golf questionnaire beforehand and let me know which clubs you have. Bring your golf bag, clubs, and glove; ask me in advance if you need to borrow a club.
Can I take a lesson with a friend or family member?
Yes, I can teach a golf lesson with you and a friend or family member, with up to two players at the lesson time. Please purchase your golf package and let me know whether it will be one or two players. I tailor instruction to each golfer’s goals, learning style, and natural swing. Any group of more than 2 players will be considered a small-group clinic lesson.
