Sure was… both last week and today!! I feel like we are on the same wave length with everything. Your eye to my form and explanations to correct are just spot on. So easy to understand. By the way… me giving you feedback on my successes, is my way of saying what a great coach you are!! Thanks Ken!! Grinning ear to ear tonight… Played a match today against an opponent I’m 4-4 against. Armed with my new backhand and serve I absolutely dominated the first set: 6-0, winning 24/30 points. Of those 6 points I lost, 2 were double faults. It was amazing. Then he changed his tactics and started in with lots of slices and off speed stuff… I lost the second set 3-6. Argh! He was completely exhausted and begged for a tiebreaker… I won 10-6. Thanks coach!!

Michelle Venegas Credit to Coach Shaw. I felt like a totally different person today on the court . Mainly with confidence Great news. Our Porter Valley tennis mixed doubles 8.0 team has won the San Fernando league. Our team is going to Sectionals on Friday 9/20-9/22. I’m pretty sure I’m scheduled to be in the lineup. I still want to work on my new serve. I also need to keep up my net game, baseline & return of serve. Tennis update: I had to step in today because one of my players got injured warming up for our ladies 3.5 doubles match. We won 6-1 /6-3 playing Line 1 against Paseo. Glad I got my lesson in yesterday. I was acting Captain & player today . Thanks for coaching me!!🎾

My lesson with Ken was quite helpful, especially in understanding proper strokes. Though I still need to work on them, I left feeling more aware of my shot control and confident I can build on this with more practice. Honestly, I appreciated how the lesson started to focus on practical adjustments but also he made it more fun with mixing it with multiple strokes from my end that it looked like I’m already playing! Still, I hope to see further improvement, but I’d say it’s worth trying Ken if you’re aiming to learn good techniques or refine your game.

I find Ken’s approach to be quite detailed, especially when tailoring to different skill levels, which is pretty helpful. The lesson focused well on my current abilities and how to build on them, though I still see room to keep working on the basics while moving forward. It’s reassuring to have guidance that’s both specific and encouraging. If you’re keen on steady progress with a coach who really pays attention to the finer points, Ken might be worth trying out.

Honestly, I think Ken’s approach really meets you where you are at skill-wise and gradually builds from there. Each lesson feels like steady progress, and still, we manage to have fun along the way. I’m hopeful about continued growth, especially with his thoughtful guidance. If you’re interested in tennis and want lessons that develop you naturally, you might want to try Ken out.

Eddie said: Awesome, see you at 11 am this Friday. Also need another lesson on Monday 15 Jan at 12 noon or later (holiday) if you are available. For tomorrow, would be great to play a few games after hitting around/warming up. They want me to play USTA singles so I need practice actually playing singles
