In my opinion, tennis is the most fun sport to play especially when you get to the intermediate and advanced level. I think that there are so many positive benefits in playing tennis such as its exercise component, strategy elements, and most importantly the different ways you can make the sport your own.

Starting with the amount of exercise involved in playing tennis, tennis consists of many different movements that require most of your muscles being engaged the whole time. This means you are getting a great workout if played properly as you are moving side to side, forward and back, and also diagonally. Not only are you moving all over the place but also swinging the racquet with both arms simultaneously. With these exercises all taking place at once it is typical that you will be getting tired very quickly. This is why there is a big difference between being in good shape in general compared to being in good tennis shape as far as fitness goes. For example, if you take a physically fit person who goes to the gym a lot with good endurance and having them try playing tennis, they will usually feel that they are out of shape. This doesn't necessarily mean they are out of shape however it just shows how unique of physical exercise tennis ENSUES.

Next I would like to discuss the strategy elements of the sport. Tennis is a sport that focuses on hitting a ball back and forth over the net as both players are trying to not hit the ball out of bounds or miss into the net which forces each player to come up with their own particular strategy to win the rally or point. Every tennis player has their own specific style of playing tennis so it can be beneficial to adopt a game plan that is catered toward attacking your opponent's weaknesses. This can be through hitting the ball aggressively or rallying with consistency to outlast the point. There are also multiple patterns that can be utilized when constructing the rally. Some specific patterns include hitting the ball cross court twice and once down the line repeatedly (vice versa), hitting cross court over and over until the error is drawn, cross court over and over until the ball sets up in the service box to then hit the ball the opposite way. These are a few pattern/strategy aspects of tennis that make the sport fun and engaging.
Lastly, taking tennis classes is often a great option because you can focus on a new healthy habit to improve in. Capitalizing on the basics and ensuring the appropriate techniques is always the primary stages for a beginner's tennis development. Therefore, fostering the most suitable way that works best for your play style is essential in speeding up this learning process. This is where the tennis coach/trainer/instructor/professional plays a big role in offering their insights and advices to set up players in reaching their highest potential. Ultimately, it is good to consider these facts when deciding why you should take tennis classes and have fun playing the sport.
